How To Use Coupons

You can open and view your NY Lottery free play coupon from the My Prizes page in the app. These are single use coupons with an expiration date. 

If you open it on a mobile device, you can show the coupon to any authorized New York Lottery retailer and they should be able to scan the barcode off the screen and issue your free play.  

If you are playing from a desktop/laptop web browser, just click the Print Coupon link at the bottom of the page and bring the printed coupon to any authorized New York Lottery retailer to redeem your prize.

If the retailer is having trouble scanning the coupon from your device, here are a few tips to try to improve the scanning accuracy:

1. You can print your coupons from your account when connected to a printer by clicking the "Print Coupon" button at the bottom of the screen. Scanners are more accurate reading off a printed page.
2. You can take a screenshot of your coupon from your mobile phone. There is a button on the coupon page when viewed in the mobile app to Take Screenshot.  When you open the screenshot in photo gallery you can zoom in or zoom out on the barcode image to reduce or enlarge the barcode image. This may help readability by the retailer scanner.
3. Please ask the retailer to manually enter the coupon number found underneath the barcode.
4. Please take your coupons to another NY Lottery retailer as they may have a better scanner.
